Good morning all. I'm home after completing my seventh shift. Today's shift was another execute-like shift. Orbit 3, also known as the planning shift, is mostly a planning shift. We look ahead to the next day(s) plan and make sure everything is in order so that the next two execute shifts can perform their duties without having to plan/replan something. We, on the planning shift, don't typically get to send many commands to the vehicle. Tonight we were trying to catch up with some tasks that we got behind on. So, the planning shift became an execute shift. I'm happy to report that we completed all the tasks that we fell behind on and we left the vehicle in a good configuration for the next 2 shifts. Today will be EVA #3 which will complete the power reconfiguration of station. Time permitting, the EVA crew may go try to coax that 110 foot map back into the folded position.
I still do not know if we are going to extend the mated mission by a day. Hopefully we'll know something later today. If we don't extend the mission, then i'll have two more shifts left to work on this mission. Then i can take a few days off to rest a bit. Then it's back to being Increment lead. We have a few activities coming up in January that i need to start planning for. Then as the increment winds down, my lead flight (STS118/13A.1) planning will start to increase, with the flight occuring in the summer time. After that, i will be able to take a sizable vacation. Not sure what/where i'll be doing/going, but i do want to take some time off...
Anyway...off to bed.
