Well, the very first ISS shift of the STS116/12A.1 mission was a success. Tonight was somewhat calm...and i liked that. It gave me a chance to get in the groove of flying a mission. This also happens to be my first mission in the ADCO chair. There is a little bit more responsibility up there...but it's great. To think, my next flight will be MY flight...MY turn as a flight lead. My flight will be STS118/13A.1 in the summer time. It's just far enough away to not scare me yet. But i have a feeling that flight will be a hectic one...it will be high profile for sure. It is the second attempt to launch an Educator Astronaut. The first attempt was Challenger in 1986.
Back to this mission. The mission started out smoothly, with very little deviation from the way it was planned. I hope it stays this way throughout the mission. I'll try to keep a day to day summary of what happened on my shift...and perhaps summarize the rest of the day. It will just depend on how tired i am when i get home.
Stay tuned for ADCO Orbit 3 briefings, right here on HorelicaNet.
I'm off to get some sleep...
